Privacy
We collect little. We do not sell it.
TravelDetails is an editorial guide. We are not a booking platform and we do not run advertising. This page is the actual practice, last written 19 September 2026.
What we collect
If you create an account: email, name, a password hash, optional travel preferences, and places you save or mark visited.
If you send a contribution or a report: the note, the place or destination it refers to, and the email you give us so moderation can reply. Nothing you send publishes automatically.
If you sign in, we set a signed session cookie named td_account. It is not an advertising cookie. We do not use third-party ad pixels.
Where it lives
The site is hosted on Vercel. Canonical records sit in PostgreSQL (Neon). Moderators can see contribution emails because the queue is how we keep the guides honest.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it to rank recommendations. Partner status cannot buy a place on a list.
We do not invent emergency numbers or publish a business we have not actually selected.
How long, and how to ask
Account and moderation records stay as long as they are needed to run the guides and the audit trail. Write hello@traveldetails.org to see, correct, or delete what we hold on you.
